Roadworthys and Certificates of Inspection
In Queensland a roadworthy certificate is otherwise known as a safety certificate. A safety certificate is required when a registered light vehicle is offered for sale in Queensland, or when re-registering an unregistered vehicle. It confirms that a vehicle has passed a minimum safety standard inspection.

Queensland Certificates of Inspection (COI) scheme is a periodic or programmed inspection scheme for vehicles at high risk of non-compliance with vehicle standards (such as trucks and other vehicles that travel long distances). You must have a current COI vehicle if registered.
